Gorton Monastery: Manchester

The Monastery of St. Francis and Gorton Charitable Trust were formed in 1996 to save this magnificent grade II listed building designed by Edward Pugin (1834-1875). The Trust managed to raise in the region of £6million including grants from various heritage funds and regeneration agencies.

Bridge End Joinery has the task of replacing over 100 curved-head sliding sash windows. Our involvement also included replacing door casings, cedar doors, roof timbers and restoration of the large main doors.
